Competition Elements Order To Go:
- Each horse will be led into the ring saddled.
- After entering the arena, the exhibitor must remove bit completely from the horse's
mouth and re-bridle.
- Exhibitor must then ground-tie the horse (no hobbling).
- Exhibitor will demonstrate ground-tie by moving approximately 10 feet away and
circle horse.
- Exhibitor will then pick up all four of the horse's feet.
- Exhibitor will then mount the horse and ride to the center of the arena and stop.
- Exhibitor will then begin his workout performing the following pattern:
1. Lope small circle to the right, followed by large fast circle to the right.
2. Lead change in the center.
3. Lope small circle to the left, followed by large fast circle to the left.
4. Lead change at center; run back and roll back to the right.
5. Run down and roll back to the left.
6. Run past center, stop and back up 10-15 feet.
- After the exhibitor has completed the pattern, cattle work will begin and one cow will be turned loose in the
arena upon request of the exhibitor.
- Upon receiving the cow in the arena, the exhibitor must work the cow by boxing it on the end, then take the
cow down the arena and turn it at least once each way.
- After the cow has been worked, the exhibitor must track, rope and bring the animal to a stop in the open
division. In the three year old division, the exhibitor must track the cow only.
- The exhibitor must drag the log to the center of the arena, circle and return to the starting point dragging the l
log back into the roping box. During the maneuver the rider will demonstrate both forward and backward movement of the horse.
- The exhibitor will then open and close the gate while mounted.
- The exhibitor will then load and unload his horse into the stock trailer at the end of the arena**
- The official judging will end at the conclusion of the loading/unloading exercise or when the 9 minute time limit
has expired.
**DUE TO LIMITATIONS OF THE FACILITY, WE WILL BE ELIMINATING THIS ELEMENT OF THE COMPETITION FOR 2011**
